Since joining CO Architects in 1987, Scott Kelsey has advanced the best principles in design and programming for health sciences education, science & technology, healthcare and civic facilities across the country. Scott is nationally recognized for his expertise in the ever-evolving planning and design of medical schools across the US and in the UK. He brings to these projects a deep passion for reimaging learning and research environments that support curricular evolution, new pedagogies and interprofessional engagement. He presents at national forums such as Tradeline, The American Institute of Architects and the Society of College and University Planning, and is the director emeritus of the Global Design Alliance and current chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the University of Oregon College of Design. As managing principal of the firm from 2007-2021, Scott advanced CO’s model of practice, which balances technical pragmatism with creative design advancement. During this period of growth and innovation, CO remained true to its progressive spirit of a “practice into perpetuity”.
