CO Architects is currently undertaking the comprehensive modernization of the North Hollywood High School campus, which is distinctive for both its natural and man-made characteristics. The school has an extensive agricultural program and features a great number of fully grown trees, giving the campus a bucolic character. The core campus buildings were designed in the 1920’s and 1930’s by noted California architect Myron Hunt, and the campus also features high-quality Spanish revival buildings.
The project scope involves the seismic upgrade and modernization of approximately 100,000-SF of existing space and the construction of a new classroom building and core facilities, including a new auditorium and gymnasium. The new classroom building will house 52 classrooms and features specialized instructional spaces for art and ceramics, robotics, video production, auto repair, wood working and construction.
