Maya Lin Art Installation at the Autry C. Stephens Engineering Discovery Building

The new Autry C. Stephens Engineering Discovery Building will feature a major public art installation from renowned architect and artist Maya Lin. This large-scale artwork, Floating Landscape, will be her first public artwork in Texas. The 3,600-SF work blurs the line between sculpture, architecture and ecological design to create an eye-catching structure that uses LED lights to mirror the constellations in the Texas sky on September 15, 1883 — the date of UT Austin’s founding. The installation reflects the spirit of discovery and innovation at The University of Texas at Austin, complementing the groundbreaking research and learning that the new building will support.
